Shubham Roy Choudhury is a Senior Programme Officer at the India Foundation for the Arts, Bangalore. He develops and monitors arts projects under the Arts Practice programme. Shubham has a Master’s degree in Film Studies from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and attended the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta (CSSSC). He was Global Cultural Fellow (2017-2018) at the Institute for International Cultural Relations, University of Edinburgh. He has worked with the Department of Film Studies, The Media Lab and the School of Media, Communication and Culture, Jadavpur University, in various capacities. He teaches film and media studies in educational institutes in India and Bangladesh.
Shubham has also worked with television channels and advertising agencies mainly in direction and editing, and has acted in a few Bengali films. He has been closely associated with the Theatre for Experiments in New Technologies (TENT) since its inception. He was one of the editors of the graphic art magazine Drighanchoo. His writings have been published in various books, journals and newspapers. He has special interest in culture, archiving, sound studies, cinema and new media technology.
