The first EARS event ”EARS on Film” is organized as part of the Finnish Film Affair – Helsinki International Film Festival’s new industry event.

“EARS on Film” introduces representatives of the new generation of Asian audiovisual professionals in the fields of production, distribution, sales, financing and television. The EARS afternoon 26th of September provides the audience with an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in Korean and Chinese markets.

On 27th in the second session the focus is on Korea with a more indepth presentation from KOCCA on the Korean model of supporting the creative industries.

Both sessions are organized in collaboration with FAVEX.

Perhaps best known for being the architect of the first Pusan Int’l Film Festival and creating the first two coproduction markets in Asia, the PPP in Pusan and HAF in Hong Kong. He was then Head of Int’l Business for the KOFIC and a sales agent for many years and thus has extensive experience, knowledge and contacts in the international film industry.

Isabelle Glachant started her career as a journalist for the French TVstation Canal+. She served as Audiovisual Attaché of the French Embassy in China from 1998 to 2003, and began working on Chinese films in 2004 as Executive Producer of “SHANGHAI DREAMS” (Wang Xiaoshuai, 2005, Jury Prize, Cannes). Since then, her credits include Associate Producer of “LOST IN BEIJING” (Li Yu, 2007, Competition Berlin) and “CITY OF LIFE AND DEATH” (Lu Chuan, 2009), Producer of “IN LOVE WE TRUST” (Wang Xiaoshuai, 2008, Silver Bear – Best script, Berlin), several documentaries by Yang Lina, she co-produced “CHONGQING BLUES” (Wang Xiaoshuai, 2010, Competition Cannes). She is currently working on the production of “LOVE AND BRUISES” (LOU Ye, in post-production), 11 FLOWERS (Wang Xiaoshuai, in post-production), ALONE (documentary by Wang Bing, in production) and developing new projects from Kit Hui, Lou Ye, Wang Xiaoshuai and Zhang Yuan.
