About the Modern Sky Festival 关于摩登天空音乐节

The Modern Sky Festival, in it’s 7th year, is one of mainland China’s biggest music festivals. This year’s festival will take place during November 27th – December 8th in venues throughout Beijing and Shanghai and feature top international and Chinese artists including Cat Power, Tegan & Sara and The Cardigans and more. The Modern Sky Festival is produced by Modern Sky Entertainment, mainland China’s leading music entertainment company.

Robb Spitzer is Managing Director, China Concerts for Live Nation, the world’s leading live entertainment company. Robb oversees production and promotion for concerts and tours in more than ten Chinese cities with superstar entertainers from China and around the world.

Robb began his China career in 2002, focused on live entertainment, including posts as Director Live Event Marketing for Ticketmaster China and Special Project Consultant to Sony Music China.  He has been responsible for groundbreaking stadium and arena concerts with stars like Norah Jones, James Brown, Black Eyed Peas, Avril Lavigne, Beyoncé, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Celine Dion and many more.

Ed Bennet owns Bennett Media Studio (BMS) and 723 Washington Studios in New York City.
 He also owns his own record label, film/television company, and talent management agency. 
A published writer, song lyricist, music composer and recorded musician, Ed serves on the Board of The Songwriters Guild of America Foundation. Mr. Bennett is the former CEO of VH1, MTV Network’s 24-hour music and lifestyle network.

Ed has also been publicly recognized for his professional and personal work, and is the recipient of the American Civil Liberty Union’s Torch of Liberty Award, an honor he shares with Oliver Stone, Martin Scorsese, Gregory Peck,and Harry Belafonte.

Bojan Bošković – Co-Founder, EXIT Music Festival &

Founded in 2000, EXIT is the biggest music festival in Southeast Europe. The annual four-day summer event takes place in the Petrovaradin Fortress of Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia. Now being one of Europe’s premier music festivals, EXIT began as a political rally for the Serbian youth. In 2007, the Association of the 70 largest festivals in Europe awarded EXIT the “Best European Festival” of the year. During these years, EXIT has hosted a massive list of international headliners, organized concerts, parties, art performances and started environmental initiatives throughout Serbia.

Currently Bošković and Stamenov are creating a new company specialized in concepts creation in music/festivals and marketing/communication consulting.

Antti Silvennoinen – CEO & Co-Founder of Music Kickup

Antti Silventoinen is an award winning creative industry professional and musician with over 15 years of experience working with some of the worlds largest brands. He has performed over 2000 live shows from the stages of the Finnish National Opera to local pizza parlours and tours. A musicians rights advocate who is interested in people, and their interactions with this world.

Martin Røen Hansen – International Producer at DSI Swinging Europe

M.A. in Musicology and Business Communication, Martin Røen Hansen, is in addition to continuously producing and organizing the 19 nations strong European Jazz Orchestra working for Danish Radio, as well as managing the über hip jazz/world act ‘Girls in Airports’. Martin has recently been put in charge of programming and organizing music events during a Danish cultural push in China in 2014-15. He has previously produced, supported or co-organized around 200 concerts in mainland China, as well as hosted Chinese rock, jazz and indie acts in Denmark.

A seasoned entrepreneur, Thomas Reemer founded 88tc88 in 2009 to connect hemispheres between China and the West. 15+ years of experience in the music industry managing the international careers of numerous globally popular artists and working with labels like Universal Music, Warner Music and Sony Publishing, equipped Reemer well for this international venture.

Studying at LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts), a school founded by Sir Paul McCartney, Mr Reemer understood early what implications the Internet would have on the traditional music industry. In 2003, he co-founded Artists First, a pioneer solution in the e-commerce world that builds the foundation for any music download services existing today. Reemer sold Artists First to Liberty Bloom, which is owned by Sir Bob Geldof. A sought-after speaker and advisor to brands like Allianz, Siemens, Soundcloud and many more in the East and West, Reemer lives with his family in Beijing, China.

Justin West is the founder and president/general manager of Secret City Records and Secret City Publishing. The label’s roster includes, among others, such artists as Patrick Watson, Miracle Fortress, Basia Bulat, Plants and Animals, The Barr Brothers, Suuns, and Diamond Rings, and has earned 3 gold record certifications in Canada, a Polaris Music Prize (plus 3 additional nominations), and 7 JUNO award nominations.

Justin oversees all of Secret City’s strategy and day-to-day operations and has grown both the label and publishing company to have global brands and infrastructures. On top of running Secret City, Justin is on the board of directors of the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) and is the Canadian representative for the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN), a global forum for the professional independent music industry.

Formed in 1997, Modern Sky Entertainment is the leading music entertainment company in mainland China. Modern Sky Entertainment companies include Modern Sky Concerts, mainland China’s leading festival and concert event producer and China’s largest independent record label, Modern Sky Records.

Modern Sky’s Strawberry Music Festival series is produced throughout cities in mainland China. The Strawberry Music Festival Beijing is China’s biggest, with 150K+ attendees over three days in early May.
